Is anyone using the Venturecom Ready On technology?
I have a system that is running on Compact Flash and I use the Ram based EWF
currently.

David,
I am not using it, but we have talked about using the product. What do you
think of it, and what kind of boot times are you getting?

Hi All,

I've been checking the product, but I'm pretty dissapointed from the need of
large disk-space...
does any one managed to use this technology on a Flash disk with 192MB-256MB
?
about the boot times- I got about 5-6 sec untill desktop. but remember it's
just using the
plain Hibernate feature of windows.

thanks,

Yaron Maor.

I have not even opened the CD yet.
At one point I read that you needed as much CF storage as you have RAM so I
was thinking if that was the case, forget it. Adding that much more CF
storage will increase my unit costs too much

Hi David,

I'm in some freaky mood for new ideas so what about following:

1. You make RAM boot from SDI file. (Limit memory usage from boot.ini so few MB stay unused)
2. Place SDI file on CF.
3. Boot from CF.
4. Swap CF with clean CF that is only bootable, and has ntldr. (This CF should be size of your RAM)
5. Hibernate.
6. Resume.

5-6 should be modified to fulfill these requirements.

This is very rough suggestion about the direction to make solution for this.

Read this looong thread about hibernation:
