Anyone use KillDisk to format prior to an XP reinstall?

Hi there,

I want to format my computer and reinstall XP Pro SP2. Am looking at
KillDisk to format and was curious if anyone has experience with that app?

Thanks in advance!

I was looking at the free version.

Honestly, the end objective is to get my computer back as close to
performance levels when I took delivery of it 3 years ago. I know I have a
ton of stuff on there that I don't need and just want to wipe the drive and
install my primary apps after getting Xp back on there.

Does the XP utility do a comprehensive format of the drive? Does it negate
the need to reinstall the OS?

Thanks in advance for your insight.

Hi
Is the KillDisk The Free Version or the Payed one, anyway better for you to
use the utility with XP to format and Partition your Disk.

Yes,it depends on what you want to do, is it Clean Installation or repairs?
in your case better to do Clean Installation of your XP,Patition, then
Format and Install XP on clean HD,all the Old Data and Applications will be
Wiped.
Good luck, and if you have other enquiries please write back to the group

Neither KillDisk nor any other app is needed. Formatting is done as part of
the XP installation. Just boot from the Windows XP CD (change the BIOS boot
order if necessary to accomplish this) and follow the prompts for a clean
installation (delete the existing partition by pressing "D" when prompted,
then create a new one).

You can find detailed instructions here:
