I'm not sure if they're still making this version or it was the last one
they were working on before the Symantec takeover. I have the Pro version
of the most recent version (cracked, because you can't buy it anymore), has
anyone tried the version mentioned in the subject line?

Sygate doesn't excist anymore, so it is the last one.
Your version v5.6.3408 is a beta version.

yes, and I removed that version very fast.
As I remember well it had to much problems with local traffic.
Blocked all the traffic because spf thought it was under attack.
You couldn't work with that version if you use a local network.
The last spf-pro version without blocking problems is spf v5.6.3311
and seems to behaves very well.

Yes - been using for the last 3 weeks or so. Installed it over existing
b3311, keeping existing settings.
Can't see much difference, traffic log shows a lot of incoming stopped plus
a few outgoing.

After I wrote this I began wondering
If I was O.T. and
Where did I get version 5.6.3408 in the in the first place?
For anyone interested.

www.oldversion.com goes up to SPF version 5.6.2808

Sygate Personal Firewall version 5.6.3408 can be obtained here (at the
moment).

Finally, is this now classed as abandonware since it is no longer supported?

No. Symantec still holds the copyright, and even reinstated the
registration page for older versions. Try to go to sygate.com and see where
you end up.

No. It's not abandoned. It's owned by Symantec.
You guys are actually discussing warez, not freeware.

The last freeware version is 5.6.2808.

Technically they're discussing unreleased beta versions that were in the
process of being tested when Symantec bought things. I wouldn't call
that warez.. But it's probably best to stick with the last official
released version anyway..
