i need help urgently, okay heres my problem:

i have a spreadsheet project to do on excel and its meant to be a stoc
control system, now heres my problem:

i want to create a sort of macro that will automatically take away th
stock amount(reduce stock level) or increase quantity sold of the ite
that is actually bieng sold. stock sheet is seperate to order for
sheet. the stock shhet contains around a 100 different stock and th
colomn next to the stock item name is its quantity sold. Now i hop
your all with me, what i want is whenever someone makes
purchase/order on the order form sheet i want it to add quantity sol
to the specific item that was sold, this should change quantity sold o
the stock sheet. i dont know but i heard you have to use a macr
incorporating vlookup or something.

PLEASE anyone help as soon as possible.

This is really a poor practice because you have no audit trail. You need to
establish a database or two separate databases that record inputs and
outputs by item/data/ and perhaps transaction number. Then you can always
get you stockage by adding all the inputs and subtracting all the outputs.
You will also be able to do business analysis against your performance.

Tom probably forgot to disable the Tools > Spelling menu ;-)
 
Probably a good reason you shouldn't be undertaking this. perhaps if you
post your assignment sheet and your professors name, department, school, and
email address someone would be willing to discuss an approach with him. If
this isn't a school assignment, then hire someone that has a clue.
