Anyone know how to distort text??I need the word to be straight at the top,
and curved at the bottom.

Display the Drawing toolbar (from View > Toolbars) and click the WordArt
button. Select any of the non-curved samples -- the outline one at the top
left will do. Type your text and click OK. (If you want, you can fill the
letters with black or another color by clicking the Fill button on the
toolbar).

Notice the floating WordArt toolbar that appears when the graphic is
selected. Click the WordArt Shape button in the middle of that toolbar. In
the popup, click the desired shape (on my PC it's the fourth item in the
fourth row). Finally, drag the edges of the WordArt to make the bottom more
or less curved.

There are lots of other options -- shadows, 3-D, various fills and
gradients, etc. Just remember that sometimes "less is more", and don't get
too wild. :-)
