I work in a lawfirm library. I'm putting our 1900 catalog records into
Access. Has anyone else done this? Any tips?

Hello!

I'm not a professional programmer, just an enthusiastic amateur, but I have
put together a library application for a small school library. I'd be happy
to try to help. You might start by describing the table structures and
relationships you have in mind for the application, as well as describing
the kinds of materials you want to catalogue, and the processes
(circulation?) that you want to support. There is a great deal of good
information at the following link (Don't be overwhelmed... you don't have to
read it all at once! <g>)

Just realized I never thanked you. Thanks! I agree, Access is fun. Any
getting around the 255 characters per field max?

Dear ReadReadWrite;

You are welcome!

Well, I suppose I might suggest using a memo field, but why not give us a
few more details to work from? Describe why you are finding the 255
character limit an issue? What kinds of data are you trying to store? Could
you provide a description/sample of your data and field structures?

Happy New Year!
