Any way to create a submenu on a shortcut menu?

I'd like to create a shortcut menu structure that has a submenu, but
can't find a way to do it, is it possible? I understand how to make
shortcut menus.

You add a submenu to a shortcut menu in exactly the same fashion as you add one
to a regular menu. Using the "New Menu" choice from the list of commands while
in the command bar design tool.
