any problems with xp and Kaspersky? how to exit the program?

Has anyone had any problems with Kaspersky antivirus and XP? If I right
click on the kespersky icon and click Exit, doesn't that effectively turn
off the program and any problems it might be causing?

Not necessarily. What does the documentation say about this issue?

For example, clicking exit in the ZA panel just means to close the panel.

I don't use Kaspersky so I can't say for sure but even though the
program is closed there are probably still services running. There is
more to your question than you have indicated. It might be best if you
contact Kaspersky tech support.
