any negatives involved with downloading service pack three?

I've heard of 'slowdowns' subsequent to the install of service pack three.
Anyone with positives/negatives before I download it, or are there any other
performance cahnges noticed? I appreciate any response .

Service Pack 3 for what product? Office 2000 and Office XP both have SP3,
while Office 2003 is at SP1 and Windows XP is at SP2.
