I've looked around the internet and it seems that the really cool
looking ICONS are all for sale and I was just wondering if any of you
guys knows of any site that has a lot of neat looking free icons.

Thanks

D.

I get "The link could not be saved. The web page might have been removed
or had it's name changed." error in Mozilla :-(

Anyone else? Or is it just me?

Some years ago, I compiled some various & sundry icons into icon-dll (since
re-compiled into ICL; icon-libraries) files. If you'd like (and that e-mail
addy is for "real"), I can zip-up both the dll & the icl files, and send them
over.

It's not you. I "backtracked" the url (old, late Twentieth-century trick <g>)
and came up with the following:

ftp://ftp.yars.free.net/pub/ - found

and....

There is _no_ subsequent '/software/' directory visible. Sorry :-(

However, if you are interested in scaring-up "allicons.zip", the following (see
below) links may be of some interest.

Hi... I tried ICONOHOLIC and as has been the case often in the past
after I download and unzip the icons... when I put them on my desktop
they look all washed out, and nothing like the preview that they show.

I will right-click to see the size of the file of some of these icons
and it will be very large.. some like 150KB which for an icon is very
large.

Any ideas as to why this may be the case? Sometimes I will see like 25
icons and the download for these 25 icons as a set is almost a meg or
something. There has to be something coming along with the icons to
have such large file sizes.

A little bit confusing.

Thanks

D.

Thanks Vrodok, but I'd just done the same using Google, 1st hit was
Winsite, which is pretty ugly to look at.

Their link was
<ftp://clgrps07.agt.net/pub/winsite/win95/icons/allicons.zip> if anyone
wants to try and bypass winsites ads.

I think Winsite is a little too cozy with Aluria, WhenU and Savenow.

I don't know what's more pathetic, Jack Abramoff's sleaze or Republican
paralysis in the face of it. Abramoff walks out of a D.C. courthouse in
his pseudo-Hasidic homburg, and all that leading Republicans can do is
promise to return his money and remind everyone that some Democrats are
involved in the scandal, too.

That's a great G.O.P. talking point: some Democrats are so sleazy, they
get involved with the likes of us.
