Any good freeware Data Recovery programs out there?

I need to recover my PST file for Office 2003 which was accidentally
removed by Add & Remove programs when it deleted Word & Outlook.

There's lots of expensive proggy's but I just need to recover that one
file and I'll be happy to reinstall Office again.

You may know someone with Linux installed, you can then slave it to
their comp ( no need to bolt it in, just cable it & leave it outside
the case )

Are you sure it's really gone? Usually when you uninstall programs,
your data files are left intact, for the possibility that you will
subsequently reinstall or upgrade. Outlook 2003 files should be here
in Explorer:

C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User Name]\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

You may not be able to see the Local Settings Folder unless you unhide
it in Explorer by selecting Tools -> Options->View Tab-> "Show hidden
files and folders."

If you need to undelete the file still, Restoration
(http://www3.telus.net/mikebike/RESTORATION.html) is the quickest
easiest place to start. Other options can be seen on my undeleters

The really good restore tools I suppose are Active@ undelete and
Uneraser(for DOS). Theese utilities never failed me before so I can
rely on it. Their algorithm is powerful indeed.
