I think it is UK only, but my main concern is that when you compose your SMS
and done all to send it - a message pops up to say something like "your
Provider has been blocked because of abuse". And the SMS won't go. It looks
like it is a permanent ban too.

It's language filter is quite strong. Any word that is racist, swearing,
sexist all seem to be blocked. They even seem to have all the slang words
and text typing style words that they consider unacceptable in there. It
even seems that phrases are recognised as well. But if you want to send a
text without swearing, being abusive or being racist then it is fine.

Not sure what you mean by freeware but...

I've used these free webservices to good effect in the U.S.;

The one below, though, is my favorite. It's compiled by Mike
Outmesguine and essentially is a listing of all the known sms/email
gateways for each provider, allowing you to use any email client.

- wirelessdev.weblogsinc.com/2005/03/30/list-of-email-to-sms-gateways/

Remember, what's free to send, in this case may not be free to receive...

From the 1st page your link sent me to...

"CBFSMS to UK Only - use VIPSMS for World Wide
CBFSMS Coverage - All United Kingdom Networks Only"

and VIPSMS is payware, so OT for this NG.

I'm not saying CBFSMS isn't a good service, it just seems to be
restricted to the UK. You appear to be posting from the UK so this
probably hasn't been an issue for you.

I have broadband and I use TxTBox. TxTBox is the downloadable version
of the online one. I keep it on my desktop and when I want to send a
message, I just click its icon. You can receive messages if you go
online and sign in.

Dave..... I have a problem with these damn agressive filters.
Pre-programmed for the newbies and a lot of my emails, both in and out
get filtered!

All because my last name is 'Babcock'!

I have to turn off the filters on sympatico, use an email address
without my name, and refrain from using my last name in emails.
