hi people,
i want a software where i could record a certain part of a song or a sound
from a movie. meaing, punch line of bugs bunny "What's up Doc?" if i play its
cartoon. i hope u people understand wht i mean. if someone can tell me wht
software to use then i would appricate it

you can do that is in just about any sound editing software like adobe
audition. i am sure there are some free ones out there or atleast trial
versions you can use
 
don't think so...there is another program called audio grabber which will do
a fine job.
windows recorder will not deit sound track nor rip it from a video or larger
audio track

It will if you use a microphone or line in from the sound source device.

I didn't do it that way. I started SndRec32, set the volume control to Record (Options - Properties in Volume) and selected wav, then pressed play in MP and Record in SndRec32.

The OP didn't indicate whether the source was in digital form or an
external device/player/VCR/whatever.
