At 2:38 every day Antivir updates automagically but starting on 6/8 it
has failed because it can not do this: Connecting to
http://dl3.avgate.net.
Anyone having the problem?
Suggestions on what to do?

TIA

I have the same problem but no solution

Hmmm Probably means their end is messed up.

There was a large update last week. Their servers must be overloaded. This
has happened in the past and the situation corrects itself in due time. Just
keep trying.

Did they replace avgnt with something called 'tray tool'? I got a
question from my firewall asking if I wanted to permit the change, but I
can't find anything about it. Now it keeps asking constantly, so I had
to shut down AntiVir. :-p

Unfortunately, AntiVir's update servers are it's downfall. This is a
common situation with AntiVir and that's why I don't use it anymore,
even though it's a great program. Every time there is a major program
update of any kind, the situation is terrible for days or longer. Even
when things are going well, I find it difficult to update at various
times. In my opinion, if you're going to be in the AV business, then
you ought to have functional update servers, paid or not.

At any rate, it should improve in time to a level you can live with
hopefully...

Well it did finish and I notice my "expiration" date is now 11/30/06.

How does one change the update time? Mine is 14:38 and I sure would prefer
in the middle of the night.

Just go into the Scheduler and Edit the existing update schedule, choose
the Daily option, then set the time to whatever you like...

Thank you very much. I did not realize I could use drop down to change
"interval" to daily and then schedule a time.

Education is about knowing where to look for answers.

I had the same problem for 6 days.
Finally updated today after 15 attempts, some of which started but
then cancelled after a short time.. Took over 1 hour to download the
11MB update on 256kb ADSL.
