AntiVir became shareware now?

Hello,

I just installed AntiVir 7.0 (my 6.xx version was refusing to update)
and something made me scared:

In the main screen there is a "License valid until: 31/5/2006" field.

I think this makes it shareware... anybody can confirm? I read that it
is a beta, so it could be an "expiration date" for the beta.

I used this file:
http://dl7.avgate.net/down/windows/antivir_workstation_win7u_en_h.exe

I believe it is still free, however, with the nag screen one might
fairly call it nagware instead of freeware. The only way to get rid of
it is to use a firewall like Kerio 4 that lets you block execution of an
app (not just internet access). In this case you just block
'avnotify.exe' from executing and the ad nagging stops.

But to answer your question above, someone posted on the AntiVir forum
that the license would be updated/renewed at some point before the
expiration on 5/31/06. So as far as I know, it is still technically
free and should remain so.

AntiVir PersonalEdition is still available in a freeware version and a
shareware version. The Free version is now called AntiVir PersonalEdition
Classic, while the paid version is now called AntiVir PersonalEdition
Premium. The free license is part of the install setup. I assume that if you
get a message indicating your license is expired, your AntiVir is probably
in demo mode for paid Premium version and will revert to the free Classic
version when the demo period expires.

I don't worry.
