another start up problem

when I turn my computer on, before windows xp loads to the
home screen I get a black and white screen that says I
need to hit the delete key to continue. After I do that it
boots to the home screen. How do I fix this?

What exactly does that screen say that refers to the Delete key? Is the
system set to boot from a drive that has removable media in it?
