OK so after my previous post, I managed to sort out my PC, or so I thought.
Now Norton Antivirus 2004 will not work, at startup it says that Auto Protect
is unable to load and asks me to restart. However when I restart it still
happens. Also the security center will not load and gives no option to.
Arrrghhhh!

Hi

Try uninstalling Norton Antivirus 2004 and reinstalling Norton Antivirus 2004.
This should fix your problem.

Hope this helps you.

Download Stinger to another computer and place it on a
floppy and then set the write protect tab. Some viruses disable the
anti-virus programme.

Download Stinger from here and run it to make sure that
A-V-disabling viruses are not present on your PC
http://download.nai.com/products/mcafee-avert/stinger.exe

Make sure you run the anti-virus scan in safe mode.

Boot into Safe Mode:

Now see if Norton will run in safe mode.

Hope this helps.
