Since we're talking about autocomplete...

We have one computer with Outlook 2002 that won't autocomplete e-mail
addresses when a name is typed into the 'to' field. Our other computers
work just fine with this feature. I went to tools, options, e-mail,
advanced options and verified that the 'suggest names...' and 'name
checking' features are selected. The little dog also tells me to go to
insert, autotext, autotext and turn something on, but the second autotext is
greyed out. I have installed service pack 3 and verified that the names
that are being typed in do exist in the contacts folder. The computer that
is not working happens to belong to the boss. Any other suggestions?
thanks!

First, since autocompletion uses a cache of names created as message have
been sent, have enough messages been sent from this profile to have
populated a robust cache?
If so, then the profile is corrupt and you'll need to create a new one.

This happened after I imported his address book from Outlook Express, so
you're probably right. Thanks!

I have seen this problem many, many times with the 2000
product. It's NOT you! Upgrade!

It you want to see what's in your NK2 file, you can
purchase a nice little utility at:

www.dcs-imaging.com/products.htm It sells for about 20
bucks but you may find it interesting. However, if your
program isn't autocompleting, chances are that the Nk2
file is empty.
