Dear PapJohn: Before Windows XPpro I was ablee to pass
my anolog tapes through my Sony DCR-TRV510 to my 1394
card by letting the camcorder record during the capture.
This saved the time to first record a camcorder tape and
then play it back to the card. Now I rarely get a
picture on either the camcorder or the editor with the
firewire attached to the camera. On rare occasions, I do
get a picture on Moviemaker 2 but any attempt at
capturing stops the camcorder. Premier 6.5, Ulead Studio
7, Pinnacle Studio 8 all produce the same result. It
seems that the 1394 connection should be unidirectional
rather than bi-directional. I recently read a
suggestion "set bit 113 to 1 at OD:2C" to enable AV>DV
out choice, but I think that refers to PIXELA
ImageMixer. Thanks for any ideas or help.
