Is there anyway to get rid of the annoying yellow warning MS posts on the
update site-that informs me that I "hid" a " high priority" update?

Jeff

Yes, install the high priority update.

Sure Carey,
I wonder; are you Employed by Microsoft?
Or does it matter to you that "high priority" is a matter of opinion. And
that the specific "high priority" update in question ; is in my
opinion-neither wanted and definitely NOT a "high priority". Thanks for your
standard MS response and not attempting to answer the original question-
which I restate- Is there a way to get rid of that warning? I know what I
want and MS attempts to convince me otherwise;is an annoyance.

Shut off the update reminder completely, and use some other method (like
your calendar) to be reminded to check for updates. You're supposed to wait
a few days anyway to see if the latest update turns out to be a defective
one, so losing some time is to your advantage.

No, I am not employed by Microsoft.
What "high-priority" update are your
referring to?

Ok Doug,
Thanks.
I have my automatic update turned off and I do check periodically as I am
responsible for more PC's than just my personal one. So I guess I'll just
have to ignore that yellow warning when I do update. Thought maybe I could
change the registry or something to get rid of it. But if not-oh well!!
Thanks for your help.
Jeff

I agree with Doug, turn it off, and wait a few days to see what the user
feedback is.
I then make a full image backup of the C: partition and then in the updates.
An ounce of prevention can be worth a pound of cure.

That said I've only had one update give me a problem in more than two years.

I agree, Jeff - an unfortunate response. I wonder - Is the shield telling
the you to download that dreadful WGA tool that stays on your PC doing
heaven knows what and which you have no choice to remove if you want? Oh
sorry, it can be disabled - big deal.
It was said by MS to be critical and that conned me and others to download.
Either way, have you been here, to have a look and have your say.

Well,
I respect that you took the courtesy to respond.
The "high-priority" update in question; again;in my opinion; is neither
wanted/and or"high-priority" is KB905474. I chose not to bring up the
specific update in the original thread because it doesn't really matter to
the question at hand. It could be any update. I do take an active interest
in the security of my pc's and am fully aware of any updates that I have
chosen not to download. My question still stands-Is there a way to disable
that yellow notification warning that appears on the MS update site after it
checks for updates?
Jeff

Not to my knowledge.

Thanks,
That's what I thought. Oh well. Oh again; I am aware of KB905474;but
it wasn't relevant to my question. But again, Thanks for the response.
Jeff

I also have hid a couple of high priority updates. They are updates for the
Outlook product that comes with Office, that I do not have installed.
Anyone have a suggestion for this one?

If you already have Auto Update turned off, then drop down to #5 at the
