I have a really annoying toolbar at the side of my IE 6
Browser. I've gone through add/remove programs and can't
find any entry for it. It is some search toolbar that goes
down legthways on the left hand side of the screen.

I've added in pop up killers and that works fine, but
can't get rid og this annoying search bar.

ANy ideas, i'm sure lots of people have had this proble,.

Cheers

Have you tried clicking "View...Explorer Bar" and removing the check next to
"Search"? This may take care of you. The search bar is an integral part of
Internet Explorer and cannot be uninstalled, but you can turn it off.

Run Ad-Aware scan (www.lavasoftusa.com). If the toolbar entries are not
removed still, use ToolbarCop:

Hi,
I also had this annoying toolbar! Mine was not on the side
though...it was underneath the address bar. I happened to
notice that at the end of the toolbar there was a help
icon.
If you select it you will find info on how to remove the
toolbar.
Basically, go to the control panel. Select add/remove
programs. You should find -search toolbar- in the menu.
Select it and hit remove. Worked for me.
I also had Microsoft Internet Explorer and toolbars in the
list of programs - don't select that one.
Hope this works.
Cheers.
