For some reason, for the last two weeks, everytime I start the PC, when it
gets to the desktop screen a folder called 'windows media' pops up, in it is
another folder called 'server'.

What is going on, and how do I stop it?

Any help glady received.

Normally this is down to a startup program that has been uninstalled. There
are various ways of checking for where this folder is opening from.

However the 2 quickest are:

Click on Start > All Programs > Startup > Are there any entries in here that
relate to the folder that is opening? If so delete them.

Click on Start > Run > Type MsConfig > Click Ok > Click on the Startup tab >
Are there any entries in here that relate to the folder that is opening? If
so untick them.

I tried all that before, with no joy. What is bugging me is the way it just
started to happen? As far as I can tell, nothing has changed on the PC, yet
this occurs. Bloody Windows.
