Alan Boniface

For the past couple of days whenever I start my PC and it
boots into the Windows desktop, a window appears in the
centre of my screen. The default path is:

C:\Program Files\Common

and there is a folder called BIN in it.

Even when I close this and restart windows, the folder
opens again. Why is this and how can I stop it?

I am running Windows XP Pro SP1 with all the latest
patches etc.

Hi Alan,

Go to Start/Run/Regedit:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Look here for the program/folder in question. If listed, double click the
entry and put the full path name in quotes. And Verify that all the values
in these keys do not contain any incorrect, incomplete, or null entries
(such as "").
