saw on a 'newsgroup' (old message board) that one ought not allow 'people'
to access your computer... i thought 'heck, why not...' so i unchecks the
box... 'what do i care...'

seems that it, politely speaking, put 'me' on the spam map... how & where is
the, do i get to this checkbox ag'n?

okay, i meant no harm by this action...

Hi,

In Outlood Express, which is what you seem to be using, click
tools/accounts, then click on the news tab. Click on the newserver, then on
properties. The user information on the general tab is what is exposed to
the world, munge the information to prevent further problems. Incidentally,
once you are on the spam lists, you will never get off them and the lists
frequently get sold to new vendors.

Sorry, what precisely is it you did? I don't know which box you unchecked.
Please try reposting with a lot more detail.

well... you guys are a lot of help... i 'needed' to open 'help & support'
from the start menu... and, in the search wiindow i entered remote
assistance... found the 'illusive' check box that is afore mention'd

in my life, have found that 'manners,' mine possibly, are lacking -- knowing
full-well that i'm un^ (unable) to change the world... that don't stop me
trying, though... i think 'u' get the idea...

'TIA' is, or was someth'n that was 'overt' in other people's postings...

so, TIA

TIA is short for thanks in advance.

Given that most of the professionals who give their time here completely
free of any reward, and taking into consideration the fact that they
probably have full time jobs as well as family commitments you may not get a
reply instantaniously. It may even be a few days - it doesnt mean they were
ignoring you although they probably will now!!

;o)

forgive my 'innappropriateness' and 'forgetfullness' i got comfort^ and
began taking liberties... i 'regret' that this is a 'default font' for me...
i 'offer' my regret with the Maori, Aroha Mai -- it means so much more that
the 'inglush' word for regret, worthlessness...

TIA for your patience
