Analyze with excel & Cells Formatting Problem

Hi All

I am using Access 2003 and have a report which I have given access to a
shortcut menu which has on it the "Analyse with Excel" option.

This works a treat - in so much as the data gets transported over, but, all
the data cells have a grey background with a greyish font colour - which
means you can't view the data until the cells have been reformatted! The
header cells are formatted fine.

The header cells are populated from labels in the Report Page Header
section, whilst the data come over from controls in the Report Detail section

Does anyone know how I can fix this so that font colours are black/automatic
and the background is white?

Many Thanks
Chris

Hi, Chris.

When using the "Analyze it with Excel" Wizard, the colors of the cells are
taken from the colors used for the backgrounds and fonts in controls on the
report, as well as the Backcolor for the Detail section of the report. When
the BackColor Properties of the Detail section and the controls clash, one
ends up with a grey background in the cells of the Excel spreadsheet.

Perhaps removing the color for the Detail section or changing each control's
BackStyle Property to Transparent will fix the problem.

HTH.

What a star! I have sorted my problem out. What I needed to do was to
explicitly set the background colour to White (rather than leave the colour
non defined with a background of transparent) and also specifically set the
font colour to black (rather than automatic), and hey presto!

Thanks very much for your help
Chris
