Every time I use the address book in outlook express or change it...a data base file is created and sent when I close down Outlook express. There is a file placed on the desktop and it is a data type file with my address book file stuff in it .....I know this because I converted it into a txt file and looked at it....and as I close the program the send light works on my modem as the desktop file is added.....Could someone be using outlook express as a server to send them information on my address book contacts.....I am not a very secret type person but this seems odd to me....
Any help would be appreciated

Thanks JGM

Is it maybe a ~ file?

What is the ~ (tilde) file on my desktop?:

Just very curious..That's all..

Do a full virus and trojan scan.
Running a personal firewall like zonealarm or kerio,
will allow you to see if a program is attempting to
communicate via the Net.
