"An Operation Failed": Send / Receive

When trying to send/receive in Outlook, I keep
getting "An Operation Failed" message. I've read previous
posts discussing setting up a new profile, new email,
etc. and have performed those tasks, but still the
problem persists. Previous to setting up new profile, the
message included " . . . An object could not be found."
Now there is only the aforementioned mentioned message.

A friend suggested seeing if mail would open in Outlook
Express, which it does with no problem. I need to be able
to use Outlook though and wondered if anyone could offer
assistance.

Your help is greatly appreciated.

the following errors are errors I am getting when trying to send email.
This isnt a one time thing, happens quite often and seems to be speratic
with the emails I am trying to send. One day it will work fine and another
will start giving these errors.

well folks, the very next email that I sent came back with the same error, and yes, they were in my address book

well, just for notes her

the messages are not actually sent out, it seems the program is looking for something internally to suggest whether or not it should be sent. I am running Nortons System Works 2002 that scans all putgoing email and it doesnt even try to scan the email, when I receive a the error message
