Whilst using Media player 9, I frequently get the update box which I always
decline.
Is version 10 past the beta stage and is it better than version 9?

Thanks for any info. - Andrew

We're on to 11 now! 10 is not a problem!

If version 9 does everything that you want it to do, leave well enough
alone.

Thanks clot for not answering any of my points:
Is 10 out of beta. Is 11 beta? - my friends have had problems uninstalling
beta versions clot! - Andrew.

Don't bother. ver 10 forces a "call home" each day, week or month; there
is no turn-off choice.

Sorry I was too concise in what I said. Whilst WMP10 is bloated compared
to WMP9 , it is out of Beta and works. From the comments I've seen on
various NGs, the majority vote is stick to WMP9!

Thank you Clotty - think I will stay with WMP 9.
Pitty though, my version doesn't allow tagging whereas WMP 10 does!

I hope I've helped. But, please listen the comments of others.

Windows Media Player 10 has been out of beta for over
two years. To install it, launch Windows Media Player
and from the Toolbar select Help > Check for Player Updates.

I'm sure yo've heard all you need but why don't you just try 10 for yourself
and uninstall it if it isn't your thing?

I love WMP 11 but can't wait for it to come out of beta as it is a slow,
process hungry monger compared to 10 but with every advance we have to accept
some setbacks. Choose what you are willing to excempt for your benefits.

For instance with WMP 11 I don't have to keep a Win folder open to see my
music in an easy manner but have to accept its slowness. Some call it bloated
but when I can seach through thousands of artists quickly and see the album
covers while doing it , I call it conveinence as I have over 200 GBs of
music. Just try 10, you can eject it later if you think it blows.
