Alt-tabbing between presentations

Not sure if this is a PowerPoint or a Windows issue but here is goes:

I used to be able to alt-tab between one presentation (window) and the next,
just as if each presentation was a separate program. I have now lost this
ability (don't know how) and would like it back.

Alt+tab works for both Word and Excel.

Click on Tools | Options...
Select the View tab.
Tick the check box - 'Windows in taskbar'.
