When watching a video (Windows XP), sometimes Alt+Print Scrn will save
the video still image. I think it will not work when watching an MPG
but it will work with YouTube which uses Flash.

Do you know what the general rule is?

Richard,
don't know the general rule but, I just tried and failed to capture a still
from an mpeg, and remembered about "bsplayer", a freeware player that let me
play the video clip AND capture a still from it to then be printed.

You'll find it here >>>>>>>>> http://www.bsplayer.org/

Hope this helps

Alt+PrintScreen has always captured the active window for me. It stores the
image in the clipboard. After you capture... open an image editor and
"paste" the image into it. You can then crop and save this image.
Microsoft "encoder" (free download) will capture and save a "moving" image
but the quality is so-so.

Greetings:

Is there a safe site from which this can be downloaded? Much thanks for
your attention and reply

Greetings:

I meant the Windows Media Encoder. I have since downloaded the app.
Launched a Flash video while launching Alt+PrintScrn. From this thread, a
file was supposed to be saved to clipboard. I could not find it. Seeking
1,2,3 steps to complete this task. Much thanks for any guidance in this.

Oh. Since I don't use any of those apps, I'm sorry but I can't help you. You
might want to post in the Windows Media newsgroup:

microsoft.public.windowsmedia.player

Good luck,

Malke
