Alphabetizing and Grouping

I am tracking registrations for a family retreat. One registration form is
used per family, and each form is numbered. I now need to alphabetize my
list, keeping the families grouped together. I don't know how to keep
families together where members have different last names. Please help.
 
maybe insert a new column and put all the common (nee) last name's ther
and sort based on that colum
