:confused:I need to alphabatize a group of rows, based on the words i
one column. How do I identify how the list should be sorted, and tha
the rows should all move together.

I know I used to know how to do this, but have lost the info in m
brain!

Thanks for any help I can get

highlight the are you want sorted in the direction you want sorted
as in from column A to column d the select the A-Z or Z-A sort in your
menu
if you highlight from D to A then it will sort in that direction
try it then save as another workbook to make sure you sort was correct
or hit undo or
close and don't save if its not want you want

Select ALL the columns then Data>Sort>Sort By. Pick your column with the
words and OK.

If you don't first select ALL the columns, Excel can make a mess of it and not
keep things together.

As far as the "brain" thing goes........Welcome to the club<g>
