ALLEN BROWNE - Access 97 Calculations HELP

i,

I was browsing the web looking for some help and came across you
website http://allenbrowne.com i sort of found something related to
what i am requiring my database to do which was at
http://allenbrowne.com/casu-14.html and i was wondering if you could
possibly help me out.

Iam required to calculate the values of to field which will be entered
in to a form and display the answer on the same form. I have 2 fields
on my table called
- Number of Meals
- Possible Number of Meals

Iam required to calculate the % Uptake of meals which is done by [(No
Meals * 100)/ Possible Number of Meals] please could you tell me how i
can do this and get my form to display the results of the calcualtion
once the 2 values have been entered.

Your help would be much appreciated or any other suggestions for doing
this. I thought i might have to do a query and then set it up so that
the results are displayed in the form but am not sure how to go about
this.

Also i was wondering if there was anyway that when you are navigating
through your forms when u leave one form and visit another that
pervious for closes as the other 1 opens.

Assuming you have fields named:
No Meals
Possible Number of Meals
set the Control Source of your 3rd text box to:
= [No Meals] / [Possible Number of Meals]
and set its Format property to Percent.

To close the current form when you open the next one, use the Close action,
e.g.:
If Me.Dirty Then Me.Dirty = False
DoCmd.OpenForm "Form2"
DoCmd.Close acForm, Me.Name
