ALL PROGRAMS item lost - Repost request for help

Using Windows XP Pro

After crashing and losing a lot of my changes to default settings, I no longer
have ALL PROGRAMS listed as an item in Start.
Is there a way to add it without reinstalling XP Pro?

Try System Restore to an earlier point. You probably won't get your
changes to the default settings back but that should bring back the All
Programs on the Start menu. I don't think you have much to lose by
trying it unless there is something I missed.
