All Photos Download as BMPs in Internet Explorer

I have Windows XP Professional. All of a sudden, almost every photo I
download in Webshots (Community) using IE6 insists on being saved as
"Untitled" in BMP format. I come to a laptop I have running 2000
Professional--also with IE6--and it properly downloads them as JPGs with the
proper name.

Tips?

Wouldn't you know it--I post this message, then quickly find an answer in
Google archives.

Anyway, apparently simply clearing your Temporary Internet Files does the
trick. Worked for me.

I have Windows XP Professional. All of a sudden, almost every photo I
download in Webshots (Community) using IE6 insists on being saved as
"Untitled" in BMP format.

This happens if the indexes of the Temporary Internet Files get
overloaded. In Control Panel - Internet Options, in the temporary
internet files section on the General page, click 'Delete files'. Then
I suggest click Settings and reduce the space allowed - 50 MB is
probably generous, and on big drives it tends to choose by default a
setting that is so high that this overload happens
