All of the files in MY DOCUMENTS are gone except....

Hi,

I can't understand why I've lost ALL of my word documents and other such
documents, yet, my recycle bin is empty and I seemed to have retained
attachments from emails.

Any advice please?

Thank you. I will look into this. I just installed The Shield Firewall and
Virus detection and am scanning my computer.

Could there be another explanation for suddenly losing all of my word
documents?

Not sure, but you should download an undelete tool so you can retrieve
your lost documents even if they are not in the recycle bin.

That might work. A faster, much more reliable solution, though,
is to simply reload all the Word docs and other lost files from
whatever backup medium(a) the OP is using. The time most people
decide to start backing up their system is right /after/ they
lose data.
 
Are you sure you are looking in the correct folder. Perhaps your old
profile had a problem and you are useing a new one? Go to C:\Documents
and Settings and see what you find for users.
