Two days ago the browser (ver 6.0.28 sp1)stopped loading
certain pages, such as my.yahoo.
Things I have done:
Have cleared temp files, cookies, etc. Tried different
log on. Ran regclean. installed cumulative update. Ran
virus scan. Have three computers connected with wireless
router. Can access pages from another pc no problem.

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS

I'm having a similar problem. I've tried the HOSTS suggestion but to no avail. I posted a new topic with details of my particular problem approx 19 topics above this one. See: IE won't load my website
Thanks, sked

I am having the same problem that started yesterday.
Nothing was changed on my machine. I can load 99% of all
pages I normally use except for one that I use frequently
for business. It loads with no problem on other computers.
Another interesting note is that from the Yahoo home page,
nearly all links will load except for news stories. I
searched my computer for files containing "hosts" but only
found a couple example files of IP mapping. Neither had
any real information in them. Any other suggestions.

Thanks,
Richard
