I've looked through past posting about the dreaded black screen on remote
access. Here's my problem.

I am using remote desktop to connect to my office from home using PPPoE and
my ADSL line.

I have been connecting easily for 6 months, and then suddenly this week -
the BLACK SCREEN.

I have tried to set the MTU to 1492 on the remote machine using Dr. TCP.
Still no luck.

Any suggestions?

Tom

I've been getting a dark grey screen. For me, I believe the problem is an
explorer crash which doesn't recover fully, between the time I boot and the
time I RD in. When I come home, I see pure desktop with background, and I
hit ctrl-alt-del, and suddenly all the icons fill in and everything is fine.

I've since remove a couple of stray startup items which were either unused,
or which had been yanked out by the roots and were causing error dialogs at
startup, and things seem to be fine so far.

Not that I can spot now--I did find lots of other stuff I should follow up
on, though! It's been a while since I descended to those depths.
