Some of the peeps here have great interest in aircrafts and I thought I'd put a link here for their benefit.

The aircraft really looks majestic!

Airbus A380

I hadn't seen these photos or videos yet, so I'm looking at them now... I can't believe how HUGE this thing is!

Yes it sure is a really a big aircraft, wonder when we get an opportunity to board one :D

According to the crew, its as easy as riding a bicycle.

wow what a big thing!!!!

id hate to think of the noise it will make when it takes off tho!

Well I suppose Airbus would have taken care of that and would certainly not risk this beauty to be banned from most airports :)

Found it in October 2003 for FS2004 as it happens - was flying it before the thing flew itself!!

I, of course ;), watched the thing take off on its maiden flight live as it happened at college over BBC news feed :D

It's not that big - I just measured it and it's under 6" from tip to toe! (But then again I only use a 17" display):D

Cool picture - I wish I'd seen it on the telly - missed it unfortunately.

Emirates happens to be the largest buyer of the majestic A380 with order of 43 aircrafts

Here is the computer generated image of how the Emirates A380 will look.

psd99,

Your concerns have already been addressed by Airbus and I quote

The A380 will be an environmentally friendly aircraft, which will produce half as much noise on take-off as its competitor and consume less than 3 litres of fuel per passenger over 100 km, a rate comparable to that of an economical family car. With its greater capacity and unprecedented environmental friendliness, the A380 provides the most economical and socially responsible solution to growing air traffic on key trunk routes.

Not sure if it has a swimming pool in it, but some do have mini-cinemas and a bar inside... mind you, those tickets would cost £1000's.

£1000's REALLY?

then maybe i will fly on it when im a pesnioner!

That figure was plucked off the top of my head, but to replace seat space with a bar would cost loads as they would lose about 50 seat spaces. The bottom might end up being economy "sardine tin" class, and the top 1st/Business class with a bar available to them.

I'd love to fly on one though :D

£1000 isnt THAT much - i paid nearly £700 for a return flight to the USA when i went on my own - economy class.

I think £1000 is a lot of money!!!!!

but i woulndt pay that extra 300- 500 quid at the LEAST just to see a film in the cinema or chat to a gurl in a bar 35,000 feet in the air!!!!!!

id rather go to my local town 4 miles away to do that!
much cheaper!!!!!

get me? :)

All the bars, gambling areas, lounges sound fantastic... a million miles away from current fliger experiences but you just know that they're going to forget about it all and cram every last square centimeter with seats like they always do.
