Hi.
I have a PCChips 810LM mobo and I have downloaded an updated AGP motherboard
driver from their website but I cannot find an appropriate place in Device
Manager to enable me to instal it. I have an Nvidia graphics card installed
in the AGP slot and its drivers are installed in 'Display Adapters '. I
assume the driver is some sort of mobo controller, as the manual states - "
The AGP driver allows the system to properly manage the the AGP slot on the
mainboard ". and I would very much appreciate it if some kind person could
tell me where and/ or how it is installed .

If its a windows driver, then expand the display adapter tree,R.click on the
adapter,select,update driver,select,let me select,have the driver on a floppy
disk, browse to the floppy driver, install. If its a BIOS update, then youd
need to
download flash utility for the BIOS,have flash and update on the floppy, the
web site should give you a prompt to type in for A: drive.

Thanks for responding Andrew E. It is a Windows driver which I have saved to
my desktop and I would simply instal it from there. However, are you sure
that I should use it to replace or update my Nvidia driver which is in
Display Adapters. I did not think it was anything to do with my Graphics
card drivers but was some sort of AGP slot controller for the motherboard but
wouls still appreciate you advices.

His advice is wrong and totally incorrect for your original inquiry. A
Chipset driver is used for System Devices, not Display.

Sorry for the delay in replying Dixonian but yes I have been having problems
but not necessarily to do with video. My PC has been crashing intermitently
and I am going through the process of updating all my drivers including the
mobo controllers. What I really want to know is how do I instal the updated
AGP driver as I cannot find a place for it in Device Manager.

Thanks for responding Dixonian. Although I replied to yours a while ago, I
see it has not been posted for some reason so I am replying again.

I AM having problems with intermittent crashing and in the process of
finding out what's causing it, I am updating all my drivers. However, as
explained in my original post, I am left with an updated motherboard AGP
driver but do not knowhow or where to instal it as there is no place for it
in Device Manager. Have you any suggestions ?

Extract the zip file you downloaded from PCChips & just run the setup.exe
file....it should be in the folder. That will do it automatically for you.

Bad advice. The PCChips 810LM is a bundled, integrated, MicroATX
motherboard. The chipset drivers should take care of all the intigrated
items. But you state that you have an Nvidea card in the AGP slot.
These drivers should be from Nvidea. Also there is a tag on the AGP
slot designating the useable cards. There are also specific BIOS
settings that must be set according to the computers needs.
