any idea why my system allows me to enable 4x in bios (version 1.009) but
sisoft sandra and powerstrip say it is not an option on this board? they
also say my video adapter is 4x capable.

I have a CUBX and CUSL2-C BP.
Straight from the respective manuals - the CUBX supports 2x & 1x
The CUSL2-C supports 4x and is backward compatible with 2x

Yep, my documentation and BIOS say it plainly, too. BUT I have both those
reporting apps saying it is 2x.

If it has a BX chipset it's limited to AGP 2x. Period.
