Running AOE 2 with windows XP. Game runs for a period of
time and then shuts down dumping me back in desk top,
though the music for the game continues to play until I
remove the disc from the drive. I have followed as much
advice as I can find to resolve this without success
(updated chipset drivers, video drivers, sound drivers,
installed windows XP SP1a and all other critical
updates). I have a MSI K7N2G motherboard with nForce2
chipset and Athlon XP2800 processor, nVidia GeForce4
Ti4600 video card, Soundblaster Audigy Platinum sound
card.

Any clues

Hi Phil,

You've been looking in the right direction! Those steps
are part of my Video / DirectX troubleshooter in fact,
and if you would like to try some of the other steps here
is the URL: http://NibblesNbitsVideo.tk

Otherwise, we can try several software and hardware
troubleshooting solutions to try and get your AoK going. :-)
