I went to DM but when I right-click the basic disk space, no "new partition"
window comes up. Does this mean all the space is allocated to c? If so, can
I change that, to allow a new partition?

You can only make a partition on a partition that has "unallocated space".
You can extend existing partitions if you use a third party tool like
Partition Magic.

To do this non destructively you'll need some third party software.
Symantec's Partition Magic or Terabyte Unlimited's BootItNG are two
choices. Always have a full a complete backup.
