After XP reinstall, account folder denied access

I replaced my motherboard, and thus had to reinstall windows xp. I did this using the "keep current file system" option, hoping to save my data on the hard drive. Everything went well, except that the primary account folder in "documents and settings" won't open. I get a "denied access" error msg. It also says the folder has a size of "0". The funny thing is that other account folders were not affected. This was the only account that had a password on it, but I am not sure that would make any difference in the administrative mode.
