I just noticed after installing the latest updates from Microsoft, that when
I type an address (cnn.com for example) without the http:// in the address
bar, it will no longer open the address I typed in. If I include the http://
with the address it opens. Has anyone else noticed this behavior after
installing the latest updates from Microsoft ?

Probably a problem in your registry. If you are going to make changes, back
it up first. Look for something like this...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\URL\
Prefixes
"ftp"="ftp://"
"gopher"="gopher://"
"home"="http://"
"mosaic"="http://"
"www"="http://"

Thnx for the reply Alias. No big deal for now, I'll just wait for the
update.

On another note, the PC in question is a desktop with XP Pro SP2 that is
connected to an Hp All-In-One PSC 950. I tried disconnecting the HP to see
if that would correct it but it didn't. I also have a laptop that is XP Pro
SP2 with the latest Microsoft Updates that is attached to a HP deskjet
450...It does not have this problem when leaving the http:// from the web
address...go figure.
