After Outlook Updates, couldn't send, found all email accounts gon

I had some microsoft updates downloaded yesterday and this morning, I find
that I couldn't send or receive mail. The email accounts had apparently
been deleted in the update. I've since set up one account again and ALL of
my mail is being downloaded from my mail server even though I already have a
copy of many of them locally. UGH!

In order to clean this up, I had to set up a search folder for UNREAD mail
only and then delete anything that was sent after I last checked my mail.

I figure someone else may have the same problem today.

In addition ALL of my rules were deleted. Thanks to whoever decided to
deploy this update. It's making a lot of work for your customers.
 
I just realized that my PST folder is no longer tied to Outlook. I believe
I still have it, but don't know how to set it up.

HELP! I'll be out all day so it's not urgent YET.

i must have been so tired last night that I didn't notice my daughter using
MY computer. She was logged into her account. No wonder nothing was set
up on Outlook. Thanks for your time.
 
Extremely unlikely that the update had anything to do with this.
There is more to this story.
