After install outlook 2003, hangs with (not responing) XP SP2

First time opening outlook 2003, it shows welcome message and program hangs
and task manager shows it is not responding. Install was Office 2003 Basic.
Any suggestion as to what is the problem. Thanks

Did you create a mail profile?

Not offhand; you might try doing a reinstall. What messaging services did
you add? You might try creating a new profile as well (Control Panel |
Mail...)
