I conect another drive to my pc and I install another win

operating system that i install in last but when I login
I see my old operating system (xp) on the drive c: and
the new on one the drive f:

how can I let my pc boot from both operating systems

The probem is that you did this a little backwards. Because of the method
you followed there is no entry in the boot.ini for the system on the other
drive. Theoretically if you just modify your boot.ini you should be able to
select either operating system. The setback is that there are too many
unknown factors here for me to simply tell you what entries to make. This
is a process that customer support is going to need to walk you through.

In the future if you want to dual boot a system and you install a second
drive please install the second drive as a secondary and leave the original
drive as a primary, kick off the install and tell it to install to the
other drive. You will then have entries at bootup to select either one.

If you are familiar with recovery console command fixboot to search the
drives for valid operating systems and have it automatically create a valid
boot.ini entry for the lost os.

Refer to the following Microsoft kb article:

Personnally I would just have MS technical support walk you through it if
you have never done it before.

Son, you need to learn how to at least keep the OP's original "Post Info" so
everyone knows what the original problem was and what you are suggesting is
the solution.
If you really work for MSFT, then I believe you would have had the proper
training, so your integrity is questionable????

Dear starfleetadmiral,

I do not know what you are using to view this but in my viewer the posts
(including yours) are linked to the original issue. I assumed that it was
not necessary to do so. I have been getting numerous replies from the
individuals whom I have been posting to so they seem to know that the post
was related to their issue. I wonder how they would if they did not know
what my post was related to? Since the name of the post remains consistent
throughout it seem strange to me that we would not know what it was related
to.

Of course I did not take into account those individuals who are viewing
this through a google search in which case you would not see the original
post. Perhaps a more sophisticated viewer is called for in your instance.

Nonetheless I appreciate your pointing out this discrepency. I will remedy
it post haste.

Still, questioning my integrity on this basis is a bit uncalled for. Have
you looked in the acknowledments of the Microsoft resource kits at any
time? Since my integrity is in question perhaps they should remove my name
from them. Being that I have been in this business since 1981 and have a
son who is an ex marine I am not used to being referred to as "Son". I will
take it as a compliment on how well I wear my old age.
