After exiting Outlook the program does not shut down

After exiting Outlook 2000 properly, unless I go into the
Task Manager screen and manually shut down Outlook it
will remain open. The next time I try to go into Outlook
it hangs up for a while. I have to go back into Task
Manager and check and it says "not responding". After a
couple of minutes it will open and work properly.

It is drivig me crazy because it wastes so much time
getting back into Outlook once you exit.

Can anyone help here, I would appreciate any suggestions.
