After downloading ThemeXP my display options won't work

After trying numerous times to try an use a registration code on this
computer I reliezed that the code was for my old computer. I quickly dumped
the program and now my apperance tab will not work. Everytime I try and
change the scheme it says: The visual styles could not be loaded because the
file failed to load. Details:
And then just the ok button......

Any suggestions...

Go to settings> themes> change to default theme if theme is listed as a
custom.

I attempted to reset the apperance to default, nothing. After trying to
download a new theme from ThemeXp and applying it to the computer it still
says:

Style XP Version 2.000002
An exception occurred while applying the style.
C:\SOURCE\TGTSoft\Themes\StyleXP\StyleXP.cpp(2236)

Failed to load the preview.
C:\SOURCE\TGTSoft\Themes\StyleXP\SxpStyle.cpp( 221)

is not a valid Win32 application.
C:\SOURCE\TGTSoft\Themes\StyleXP\StylePreview1.cpp(2276) : 0x800700C1

Again any help would be appreceiated.

Hi Tim
Have you checked to see if the Theme service is running
 
I have tried to change the theme with both ThemeXp on and off. Also my
dvd/cdrw drive is broke and being sent in on a warranty issue. As soon as I
get a new drive I would be able to use the WindowXP install disk to fix the
issue. At least I hope so.
